Product characteristics
Corncob consists mainly of plant fibres, including cellulose, hemicellulose and pectins. It also contains a variety of bioactive compounds such as flavonoids, polyphenols, organic acids and phenolic compounds. Other characteristics include absorbent and antioxidant properties.
A base for multiple uses in industry.
It is used in multiple sectors:
- raw material for use in animal feed;
- base for the production of absorbent granules for vibrofinishing and sandblasting;
- filler for industrial uses;
- pet litter;
- substrate for horticulture;
- matrix for absorbing perfumes and essences.
Plant-based litter
Plant-based litter is made from the husking of corn: the cob is ground to obtain the grain size desired by the user.
It is sifted to remove dust, light parts and impurities.
